Red Echo

I spent yesterday evening on the quilted winter pants and got them basically done. They still needed hemming, so I did that this afternoon, but I got a little carried away with the cuff treatment and ended up spending about three more hours doing this thing with overlapping panels, and now they are really done. The pants have the usual assortment of minor technical errors, and the fit isn’t as trim as I prefer, but they are comfortable, functional, and look exactly how I’d imagined they would, so I’m calling this one a success.

My imagination has run some distance ahead of my actual sewing skill. I don’t know of any way to catch up but to keep making things.

I made plans to go skiing tomorrow, anticipating a return to full health, but a simple trip to the grocery store this afternoon left me thinking about a nap, so I’d better wait.
